We are an extensive program that will allow students to bypass a lot of fluff and fill-ins and get right down to the heart and science of midwifery. This is a comprehensive and affordable program that fits into both money and time budgets of almost everyone. Our program is set apart from the others because distance learning is complemented with interactive online class instruction/video confrencing. This allows students "hands on" instruction and demonstration with our knowlegeble instructors, in their own home environment. Use of online 2way-video emerses students in a "whole body" (all five senses) experience, utilizing an extensive multi-media curriculum and practical hands on skills training. HOME provides many methods of reinforcing specific skills and knowledge while unifying "the most curent advances in obstectrical research" WITH "the time honored art and traditions of midwifery"! What to Expect! To begin with, tuition Includes a student study package, video conferencing cam, and a Midwifery tools package comprised of neccessary midwifery tools.! Students will receive access to section by section packets of study materials along with audio and video recordings. In addition to our video conferencing, we provide phone help and project assistance. Students should expect 20 hours of homework per week, including research projects, additional skills practice and reading. Upon graduation, students will have completed 44 units of study divided up into 24 sessions. In each session/unit students will learn by reading, lecture, workbook assignments, written assignments, labeling & coloring sheets, research and creative projects. Upon completion, students will receive a frameable graduation diploma. Attending our intensive skills workshop greatly enhances the "extensive school training", (both being created to compliment the other). Our skills workshop is recommended, but attendance is not required to complete the school. This program prepares students for: Certification, testing and licensing as well as the running of a midwifery practice. Requirements: High-school level reading ability. Access to all required books. Computer with: a 2.6 ghz processor or greater, usb2 support, windows xp service pack 2 or Vista, printer and scanner, High speed internet access. The total tuition price $6,500 for our complete two year program. $1,000 down. Then 24 payments of $210 each month. (If student needs to drop out of the program, the $1000 is non-refundable, along with monthly payments already paid; however the student package is theirs to keep, along with the video conferencing cam and midwifery tools kit.)
