Do you have any tricks for morning sickness (nausea and vomiting in pregnancy)? Please
SHARE them with us! We want things that you’ve tried or heard about that have helped. Please state which categories that your trick has worked for. We will go through these tricks and eliminate duplicates so we don’t have fifty “eat crackers” on the page. Once the list is compiled, you will be able to print it out and use it as reference material.

Morning sickness is divided into three categories.

1. Mild and occasional nausea and vomiting

2. Nausea and vomiting that results in minimal or no weight loss or interference with daily living

3. Severe nausea and vomiting resulting in weight loss, electrolyte imbalance, low blood pressure, and ketoneueria (spilling keytones in the urine). This type is known as hyper-emesis gravidarum.

Here are a few ideas to start the growing list of tricks and tips:

1. Try sipping ginger ale (Works for categories 1 & 2)

2. Homeopathic motion sickness pills (Works for categories 1 & 2)

3. A midwife I know says chewing on candied ginger has worked for many of her clients.
